Committee Mission Statement

  • Monitor the organisation of Obedience Trials and Tracking Trials and ensure that they are conducted in accordance with the Regulations.
  • Allocate and amend Trial dates.
  • Make recommendations for amendments to the Trial Regulations.
  • Consider reports of Trial Representatives.
  • Refer incidents reported at Trials by the Trial Representatives to the Secretary, the Board or the Affiliate concerned as appropriate.
  • Conduct State and National Obedience Trials as required by the Board.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the Affiliates on Trial regulations and all other matters relating to Obedience and Tracking.
  • Manage all issues relating to Obedience and Tracking which are not specifically assigned to another committee.

Obedience and Rally Rules Review for 2026

Submissions are now invited for changes or additions to the current rules. They are to be sent to O&T Committee or DOGS NSW Office.

All submissions must be given in the following format with your membership number to be accepted.

Black – Current Rules
Blue – Repeat existing rule with proposed additions or deletions
Red - Rationale

Eg.1.12.3 (Black)
The Judge must also remove any dog which after a period of 5 minutes fails to show productive work or is unable to move stock forward on the course of a Test or Trial.

Proposed Changes 1.12.3 (Blue)
1.12.3 The Judge must also remove any dog which after a period of 3 minutes fails to show productive work or is unable to move stock forward on the course of a Test or Trial.

Rationale 1.12.3 (Red)
1.12.3 Five minutes is too long for stock to suffer overworking.
