The Members Education Committee will provide a diverse range of educational programs and activities to ensure that the members of Dogs NSW are equipped to undertake best breeding practices and responsible dog ownership, both values which they will share with the wider community.
1. To achieve its Mission, the Committee acknowledges that:-
1.1. Its core business is member learning within a framework supported by the values endorsed by the Board of Directors of Dogs NSW; and
1.2. It will support members in developing their abilities, empowering them to become responsible individuals who can successfully participate and provide leadership in the community for the good of all dogs.
2. To achieve its Mission the Committee will:-
2.1. Endeavour to have to DogsNSW registered as an RTO (Registered Training Organisation)
2.2. Plan, prepare, conduct and revise lectures/seminars which are accessible for all members in canine matters, in particular, the broad curriculum provided in both the:
2.2.1. Members Education Course and
2.2.2. Assessment for eligibility for a Breeding Prefix;
2.3. Involve a wide range of professional and experienced people in the presentation of the Members Education Course;
2.4. Ensure that the Members Education Course provides a sound foundation for learning prior to members entering the Conformation Judges Training Program;
2.5. Provide educational material to support members undertaking the above Programs and
other educational events;
2.6. Participate in the sale of educational literature, especially books, through the Office of Dogs NSW;
2.7. Assist new member affiliates when required;
2.8. Be active participants, when required by the Board of Directors, in assisting in a public relations role and its interaction with Government organisations, peak animal welfare bodies and the community as a whole;
2.9. Recommend to the Board of Directors, public relation strategies which will increase the general community’s understanding of the role of Dogs NSW in educating its members and its promotion of the care and the responsible breeding of pure bred dogs.
