Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program - Applications Now Open!

17-09-2024
The Hon Steve Kamper MP, Minister for Small Business, Minister for Lands and Property, Minister for Multiculturalism, and Minister for Sport has today announced the launch of the Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program for 2024/25.

In 2024/25 the Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program will provide grants of up to $3,000 to sporting and recreational organisations. The Program will fund up to $500,000 to these clubs across NSW.

In 2024/25 the NSW Government will continue to support organisations which are located, or who have a majority of members in the most disadvantaged areas of NSW.  However, we have listened to feedback from the community and recognise that postcode borders do not determine the financial status of a club, so we are providing the opportunity for clubs who might not be eligible based on where they are located, but who are experiencing financial hardship to also apply.

DOGS NSW would like to encourage all Clubs to apply for the Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program with the NSW Government as applications are now open online. Please click on the link below to find out more and to apply.

Applications open: 9.00am Tuesday 17 September 2024

Applications close: Wednesday 27 November 2024, or until the funds are exhausted whichever is earlier.

Attention: All NSW Judges - Working With Children Check

29-08-2024

At the May 2024 Board meeting, the Board resolved as follows:-

THAT all NSW Judges, including Junior Handler Judges, submit a Working With Children Check (WWCC) number annually when paying for their Judges renewal with DOGS NSW.

This requirement also applies to sporting and performance discipline Judges.

As a result of this change, we have implemented an updated Judges Declaration as well as updating the National Database. You will find the following updated declaration when renewing your membership.

The Judges Declaration now reads:-

I declare that I am physically fit and capable of judging in accordance with the Rules and if required I am prepared to undergo a medical fitness test and/or vision test at the discretion of the Member Body of Dogs Australia.

I confirm that I currently hold a valid Working With Children Check [please send your Working With Children Check by email to the Office which includes your WWC number and expiry date to info@dogsnsw.org.au).

I further accept that my Member Body may at its absolute discretion refuse to grant any renewal of licence and may cancel or suspend for any period. Your membership renewal payment confirms that you have acknowledged and accepted this declaration.

If this applies to you, we encourage you to action this requirement and let the DOGS NSW office know of your updated status as soon as possible.

You can apply for the WWCC via the NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian (click on the link below). Once you have obtained your WWCC, please email a copy of your clearance, which includes your WWCC Number and expiry date, to the DOGS NSW Office at info@dogsnsw.org.au

You will be required to confirm this check with DOGS NSW every year when you sign your declaration. Please ensure you are always up to date with this paperwork.

The digital signature feature in this form will only work when using “Adobe Reader”. It will not work with generic PDF readers. For Mac and iPhone, please install the Adobe Reader app otherwise you will see a cross-out symbol.

The first version of the form retains the feature to be digitally signed whereas the second version has had this feature removed and will require a manual signature.

Both versions are clearly labelled and can be accessed here
