Plan for ticks and heat - many coastal and bush areas in NSW are paralysis tick hotspots; pack preventatives and do daily hands-on checks, especially after bush, beach or long-grass walks in known tick areas

Confirm accommodation rules - ask in advance whether dogs can go inside, any size/number limits and whether the yard is securely fenced.

Update ID details - make sure your dog’s microchip info is current and consider a temporary tag with your holiday contact number.
