Mission Statement

  1. Act at all times in accordance with any directions issued by the Royal NSW Canine Council Ltd (DOGS NSW).

  2. Monitor the organisation of:

    • Retrieving Trials for Gundogs

    • Field Trials for Utility Gundogs

    • Field Trials for Pointers and Setters

    • Field Trials for All Pointing Breeds of Gundogs

    • Field Trials for Spaniels and Retrievers

    • Retrieving Ability Tests for Gundogs

    • Utility Gundog Ability Tests (Gundog Trials and Tests)

  3. Promote the conduct of Gundog Trials and Tests in NSW through:

    • The efficient and transparent exercise of DOGS NSW RAFT functions.

    • Consultation with interested parties.

    • The use of DOGS NSW publications and social media.

    • Other appropriate communication channels.

  4. Advise DOGS NSW on the organisation and conduct of Gundog Trials and Tests.

  5. Administer and oversee the application of the relevant rules and regulations for Gundog Trials and Tests by:

    • Ensuring, where reasonably practicable, that all trials and tests are conducted in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations.

    • Providing advice on the application and interpretation of rules and regulations.

    • Making recommendations to DOGS NSW for amendments to rules and regulations relating to Gundog Trials and Tests.

  6. Consult, where appropriate, with members of the DOGS NSW Gundog Trials and Tests community and the RAFT Committees of other States and Territories in the best interests of the sport.

  7. Represent the interests of DOGS NSW and its members on the National Retrieving and Field Trial Committee.

  8. Facilitate the training and examination of judges for Gundog Trials and Tests.

  9. Consider applications, allocate, approve and amend dates for Gundog Trials and Tests.

  10. Review reports from Gundog Trial and Test Representatives and respond appropriately to any issues or incidents that arise.

  11. Conduct the State and National Championship Retrieving and Field Trials as directed by the DOGS NSW Board of Directors.

  12. Supervise all Working Parties allocated to the Retrieving and Field Trials Committee by the DOGS NSW Board of Directors.

  13. Carry out any other functions required from time to time to ensure the continued success of Gundog Trials and Tests.
