About the Dog

Vishalah Kennels is a small kennel located in Western Sydney, inspired and guided by several generations of showing and breeding Ridgebacks.

Formerly ‘Vishala’, our kennels started when my grandmother, Deirdre Bacon, brought her first Ridgeback, Leader of Chadwell (”Kaunda”), over from England in 1972.

Deirdre co-founded Rhodesian Ridgeback Club Inc. (1973) and passed her passion for the breed along to my mother, Kate McPherson, who bred several beautiful show-winning dogs including: Aust Ch Vishala Sikoto; Aust Ch Vishala Inkosi; Aust Ch Vishala Impi; Aust Ch Vishala Sebina; Aust Ch Vishala Ndawo; Aust Ch Vishala Kabangisa, and International Ch Vishala Kinghunter Lance.

All dogs are hip and elbow scored and cleared for any hereditary or congenital defects we are aware of and have screened for. Our puppies are microchipped and vaccinated at 6 weeks and receive several additional health checks before being adopted at 8 weeks. They leave us well socialised with all relevant paperwork and a comprehensive Puppy Pack.
