About the Dog

Lapochka Border Collies is the result of a love affair with the breed that began in 1996 with one very special dog — Star Puppy.

What started with simply falling in love with a Border Collie grew into a fascination with the breed itself: the elegance of a beautiful head and expression, the balance of correct structure, effortless movement, intelligent eyes and, above all, that unmistakable Border Collie character.

We are passionate about conformation showing and the generations of breeding behind the dogs we admire. Our aim is not to breed simply because we can, but to make thoughtful choices that preserve what we love about the breed while striving to produce the best possible combination of qualities in the next generation.

Our Border Collies are first and foremost our family. They share our home and our lives, and we love watching each one develop its own personality and potential.

For us, the joy is in the whole journey — choosing a pedigree, watching a puppy become a young dog, stepping into the show ring and, ultimately, seeing a Border Collie we have bred become everything we hoped it could be.

That is Lapochka.
