The office receives numerous complaints, from new owners, that the breeder did not fully explain the restrictions of purchasing a puppy/dog on the Limited Register, at the point of sale. Many of
these complaints are unjustified and the breeder did in fact explain the restrictions to the potential puppy buyer.
In order to protect both our breeders and the new owners a form has been instigated which acknowledges that:
• The breeder has explained the restrictions of the Limited Register
• The new puppy owner signs to acknowledge that the breeder has explained the restrictions of the Limited Register
All parties must sign this form and the completed form MUST accompany the Certificate of Registration when it is lodged in the office to record the transfer of ownership.
This policy will take effect as from 1st January 2008 and the forms will be distributed to breeders on the return of their Certificate of Registration for all Limited Registered puppies/dogs. The form will also be available to download from our website.
