New Conformation Judges Training Program 2009/2010 – Members Input Invited
Message to all Dogs NSW Members
As foreshadowed in the February 2009 President’s Report, the Board is now seeking member recommendations and suggestions in relation to the new 2009/2010 Conformation Judges Training Program. Input is sought from ALL members, regardless of whether or not they are Judges.
The draft CJTP Policy Document was approved, in principle, by the Board at its April 2009 meeting and has now been placed on this website below so that members can examine it closely and make such recommendations and comments as they feel are appropriate to the Board with the view of obtaining the best possible outcome.
The Conformation Judges Training Program is an important part of the activities of Dogs NSW and the Board hopes that members will become involved and take ownership of the Program by forwarding recommendations to the CEO, Christine Davis, via the Secretariat Co-ordinator at virginia@dogsnsw.org.au, or at the postal address below, on or before 19 July 2009, which is the closing date for commentary.
Further, a meeting has been organised in the Amenities Building of The Bill Spilstead Complex for Canine Affairs, 44 Luddenham Road, Erskine Park, on 18 June 2009 at 7.30pm for member discussion of the Program. I will be chairing that meeting in conjunction with the CEO, Christine Davis, and warmly invite your attendance and input.
Your attention is particularly drawn to Section 3 of the CJTP Policy Document, which sets out the competencies which Trainees are expected to achieve, the requirements to pass a practical examination, the method of assessment in a practical examination and the review arrangements both by the Clerk of Examinations and the Review Panel.
Member involvement in issues such as the new DPI Breeders Code and the Conformation Judges Training Program is an important component of the search for excellence in all aspects of our operations and your involvement in making the new training program will be of benefit to all members.
We are also working on the new Accredited Breeder Scheme and the Board will, in the near future, be asking members for their input on that important issue.
Yours sincerely
Frank Pieterse
President
